This article will walk through the steps to change a Lead's ownership from one user to another. It will also cover how to change lead ownership in bulk with the Lasso tool.
TIP: The ability to change lead ownership depends on the user's role and the permissions associated with that role. Owners will have the permission naturally, for all other users, be sure the permission to "Manage Other's Leads" is enabled. Even if you are changing the ownership of a lead you already own, this permission needs to enabled.
Lead Ownership Permission (iOS&Android)
This part will describe the necessary permissions your role must have enabled in order to perform lead ownership changes.
- From the SalesRabbit Web App, navigate to "Settings" -> then "Roles & Permissions".
- Select the "Role" you'd like to enable/disable this permission for.
- Enable/Disable the toggle for "Manage Others' Leads".
- Set the "Level" you'd like this role to have the permission enabled for.
Change Lead Ownership for Individual Leads (iOS)
This part will demonstrate how to change lead ownership from one user to another for an individual lead.
- From the SalesRabbit iOS Mobile App, navigate to the "SalesHub" map -> select the existing lead you'd like to change ownership for.
- To edit lead ownership, click that lead's "Edit" pencil icon.
- This will bring you to that lead's information page.
- To edit ownership of the lead, navigate to the "Sharing" section and select your (or the lead owner's) name.
- A list of other users will appear. Select the user you'd like to own that lead -> click "Done".
- You've successfully reassigned lead ownership of a single lead from one user to another!
- Note: be sure to have the "Shared Leads" filter enabled to view reassigned leads on your map. Leads owned by other users will be bolded with the lead owner's user color on the SalesHub map.
Reassigning Lead Ownership In Bulk (iOS)
Bulk lead ownership assignments can be done in the SalesRabbit iOS Mobile App using the Lasso Tool. This part will demonstrate how to reassign a leads to a different lead owner in bulk using the lasso tool.

From the SalesRabbit iOS Mobile App, select "SalesHub" -> navigate to a group of leads you'd like to change owner for -> select the "Lasso Tool" icon on the left side.
- Note: you may want to ensure you've enabled the "Shared Leads" filter.
- Use your finger to trace around and lasso the leads you'd like to update lead ownership for.
- After lassoing, select "Ownership".
- From here, select the user you'd like to be assigned the lassoed leads -> "Update" and continue.
- The lassoed leads will now be owned by the newly selected owner.
- Note: be sure to have the "Shared Leads" filter enabled to view reassigned leads on your map. Leads owned by other users will be bolded with the lead owner's user color on the SalesHub map.
Lead Ownership Changes (Android)
Reassign leads on an individual basis in the app.
Change Lead Owners Step-By-Step (Android)
This part will cover steps for changing lead ownership on an Android device.
- Open your SalesRabbit mobile app on your Android device and Sign In.
- Access the "SalesHub" by tapping the menu in the upper right-hand corner (three horizontal lines stacked on top of each other).
- In the SalesHub, select the lead you would like to change ownership for, either from the "Map" or from the "Leads" list.
- Once the lead is selected, tap the Edit tool (pencil icon) to access the lead information card.
- In the lead information card, navigate to the section that says "Lead Ownership".
- Tap the word "CHANGE"
- A list of Users will appear, just select the User who should be the new Lead Owner.
- A check mark will appear on the right of the user selected.
- Select "Save" on the top right corner and the ownership will update.
- You will be taken back to the Lead Information Card and there, under Lead Ownership, the name of the new user will show where it says "Owned by".
Reassigning Lead Ownership In Bulk (Android)
- Click the icon showing a finger with a curved line in the lower right hand corner.
- Using your finger or stylus, draw a shape around Leads. A pop up menu will appear at the bottom of the device screen.
Make sure your Shared Leads filters are properly set prior to drawing this outline (whether it be turning it off entirely or including Leads owned by other people).
This menu will contain (Android)
- The total number of Leads Lasso'd.
- The break down and number of each Lead Status and the number Lasso'd.
- The names of everyone that owns Leads within the selection.
- All of the "actions" available within this selection.
You have the option to exempt any of the Lead Statuses and/or any of the Lead Owners by deselecting them within the menu.
Once you have deselected any applicable Lead Owners (and Lead Statuses if necessary), the selected individual(s) will be darkened and the colors of the deselected users show inverted.
- Click "Ownership" to go to a list of users in your organization.
Either go through the list of users or search for the user using the magnifying glass. Once a check mark appears to the right of the individual you wish to assign the Leads, click "Save."
- You will be prompted to confirm the Lead Ownership change. This action cannot be reversed.
