This article will teach you how to generate Weather Reports, Map Overlays and how to use Storm Finder to show specific weather events and dates

Note: This feature is only available to companies that have added the SalesRabbit Weather Add-on to their plan. If you would like to add this to your plan, please contact your CSM or our Support at (801) 418-9009.

Part 1: Generating Weather Overlay

This part will demonstrate how to generate a weather overlay in the SalesRabbit iOS mobile app.

  • Log into the SalesRabbit Mobile app.
  • Navigate to the "SalesHub" section.
  • Tap on the "Weather" icon on the right hand side.
  • From there, a drawer will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select the "No Maps" button and select which type of map overlay you're wanting to view. Options include: Hail Size, Hail Probability, Wind Gust or Hurricane.

  • Next, select the specific date you want to view that weather overlay for.

  • After selecting the type of overlay and a specific date, the weather overlay for that storm will appear on the map.
  • Tip: Use the bar at the bottom of the drawer to filter out or set a minimum wind gust/hail size.

Part 2: Storm Finder

This part will demonstrate how to use the Storm Finder feature to search for a list of storms that has impacted a designated area. The storm finder can be used to pull up a list of storms in a given radius as far back as Feb. 2019.

  • To use Storm Finder, first navigate over the area/city where you wish to see a storm history.
    • Note: the center of your screen will be used as the waypoint.
  • Select the Weather Icon, then click the "Storm Finder" icon (magnifying glass with a lightning bolt symbol).

  • After selecting the Storm Finder, a radius will appear in the background on the screen. This is the radius the storm finder will be searching for storm data inside of.
  • A default list of storms will also be listed.
  • To manipulate the list of storms, select the gray "Filters" dropdown to adjust the storm events that you are wanting to view within the defined radius.

    • Adjust the following filter to manipulate which storms you'd like to have listed. Available filters include the following:
      • Time Range:
        • Set a date range to search for storms by. Storm overlays are available back to February 2019. This option will always default to the last 6 months.
      • Radius: 1 - 100 Miles
        • Set the radius size to look for storm.
      • Hail Size: 0.75'' - 6''.
      • Hail Probability: 5 - 100%.
      • Wind Gust: 35 MPH - 200 MPH.
    • To apply your filters, simply close the "Filters" dropdown and your lists of storms will update on the next screen.

  • To view a storm on the map, simply click the desired weather event from the filtered list. This will display the storm overlay on the map, highlighting the affected areas.

Pro Tips

  • Weather Map Overlays go back as far as Feb. 2019
  • Weather Map overlay information is updated every 6 hours.
  • You can also use SalesRabbit Weather Reports to find specific dates for map overlays.
  • When using the storm finder, it's best practice to make sure that your map is centered in the desired area that you want to pull weather events for, before using the storm finder lightning bolt.
  • Weather overlay/information is reported from Verisk.
