Article Overview 

This article will teach users how to create and assign Areas using the lasso tool from the SalesRabbit (iOS) mobile app and the SalesRabbit (Android) mobile app. Additionally, how to quickly access your own assigned Areas and manage Area Filters.

TIP: In order to perform the following actions, your role must have the "Manage Areas" permission enabled.


Part 1: Area Permissions

In order to perform the following actions a user's role must have the "Manage Areas" permission enabled. This part will walk users through ensuring a role has the appropriate permissions enabled.

  • From the SalesRabbit Web App, navigate to "Settings" -> click "Roles & Permissions".
  • Select the "Role" to edit -> ensure the "Manage Areas" permission is enabled and set to the appropriate level (department, region, office...).

Part 2: Area Assignments (iOS)

This part will demonstrate how to create & assign a new area from the SalesRabbit (iOS) mobile app.



  • From the SalesRabbit mobile app, navigate to "SalesHub".
  • Select the "Lasso Tool" icon in the upper left corner of the map. Selecting this tool transforms your finger into a drawing tool, allowing users to create a boundary.
  • Using your finger, draw the territory/area around the group of homes or neighbor.
  • Completing the shape will display a list of users to assign the area to. Select the user(s) to be assigned the area -> click "Save" in the upper right corner of the pop-out window.
    • Note: if a workspace has multiple Offices, users will first need to select the appropriate office before selecting the assigned user(s).
  • A successfully assigned area will turn into the assignee's user color (in the example below, the user's assigned color is purple and now that user's areas will appear purple on the map).
  • Reselecting the area provides options to view basic area information.
  • Click "Edit" to remove or add users to that area.
  • Mobile App users can quickly navigate to their assigned areas by selecting the "Map" icon in the upper right corner -> selecting the words "Display My Area(s)".
    • Tip: use the toggle to remove your assigned area boundaries from the map.
  • Selecting the words "Display My Area(s)" multiple times will toggle users though all their assigned territories.

Part 3: Area Filters (iOS)

This part will cover how users can view other user's assigned areas on the mobile app map. The "Areas" filter is only available to users whose role has the "Manage Areas" permission enabled.

  • From the mobile app "SalesHub", select the funnel "Filter" icon in the upper left corner.
  • Users will always have access to view their own assigned areas. Users will the ability to view other user's areas on the map will have access to the "Areas" filter. This filter allows users to choose which user's areas they'd like to display on the map.
  • Enabling/disabling the "Areas" filter toggle will either apply or remove other user's areas on the map.
  • Selecting the filter dropdown will provide users with advanced options.
    • Assigned Users: select which user(s) areas you'd like to display on the map.
    • From/To Date: search for areas assigned to users within a specified date range.
    • Quick Date: set an automatic date rather than a custom date range.
      • Note: in the example below, we are viewing areas assigned to the 5 selected users for March 4th, 2026 (today).

Part 4: Area Assignments (Android)

This part will demonstrate how to create & assign a new area from the SalesRabbit Android mobile app.



  • From the SalesRabbit mobile app, navigate to "SalesHub".
  • Select the "Lasso Tool" icon in the bottom right corner. Selecting this tool transforms your finger into a drawing tool, allowing users to create a boundary.

  • Use your finger to create/draw the new area.
  • If your company has multiple offices, select the appropriate office.

  • A list of users from the selected office will appear. Select the user(s) that are to be assigned this new area -> click "Save".

  • That area will now turn to that assigned user's User Color on the SalesHub map.

  • To edit an area/area assignment, click on an existing area on the map.
  • Select the "+" button to assign the area to another user(s) or add another user to the existing area.
  • Select the trash icon to delete the area entirely.
    • Note: deleting an area will not deleting any leads in that area.

  • Mobile App users can quickly navigate to their assigned areas by selecting the "Map" icon in the upper right corner.

  • The "My Areas" toggle allows you turn enable/disable viewing your assigned areas on the map. Toggling this off will remove your area boundaries and User Colors from appearing.
  • Selecting the "< Area x/x >" buttons allow you to quickly navigate and toggle between your own assigned areas.
  • Your areas will be highlighted with your User Color.

Part 5: Area Filters (Android)

This part will demonstrate how to utilize the Areas filter in the SalesRabbit Android mobile app.

  • Select the "Filter" icon in the upper right corner to open your filters.
  • The "Areas" filters allows users to determine if/which of other user's areas they'd like to display on their map.
    • Note: the Areas Filter controls the ability to view other user's area on your map, not your own assigned areas.

  • Area Filters include:
    • Filter By User: allows users to determine whose assigned areas they'd like to appear on the map.
    • From/To Date: view assigned areas within a certain date range.
    • Quick Date: select a quick date range (today, yesterday, this week...) rather than manually inputting a custom date range in the from/to fields.

  • Once finished setting your areas filter, select "Done" in the upper right corner to apply. Your map will now be populated with applicable Areas within the parameters set.

Pro Tips

  • If a workspace has the DataGrid AI Add-On, areas can also be created using DataGrid Areas.
  • When assigning areas, don't forget to set your account Area Settings from the Web App.
